Rubina Ali, DMD
Dr. Rubina Ali graduated from Boston University in 2004. She founded Dental Arts of Avon in 2005 and has been practicing at this location since then. She believes in conservative dentistry, takes the time to explain all treatment options to her patients, and has a lot of experience dealing with younger patients, such as children and adolescents. A patients’ trust, comfort, and dental health are her first priority. Her ultimate goal for her patients is a lifetime of beautiful, healthy teeth and gums. Dr. Ali always takes the time to hear patients’ concerns and answer questions, because what they have to say is important to her.
Sophia Beason-Brown, DDS
Dr. Sophia Beason-Brown received her undergraduate studies in pre-med biology in Tulsa, OK and graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C. with her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Prior to procuring Simsbury Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Beason-Brown completed a pediatric dental fellowship with the Childrens’ Hospital in Hartford CT, as well as two years general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. While there she was the chief resident and recipient of the prestigious oral surgery award. She is dedicated to the most current advancements in dentistry and maintains a strong commitment to continuing education.
Among the many distinguishing qualities of Dr. Beason-Brown, as mentioned by team and patients alike, are her gentleness, attention to detail, her affable disposition, and impeccable bedside manner. She takes great pride and joy in providing exceptional dentistry in a caring and pleasant environment. Dr. Beason-Brown provides an array of dental services including treatment of gum disease, surgical placement of implants, Invisalign, TMJ therapy, sleep apnea treatment, pediatric dentistry, and cosmetic dental services. She is a professional member of the national and state dental associations, as well as multiple study clubs. Her goal is to provide exceptional service in a comfortable atmosphere.
When Dr. Beason-Brown is not practicing her passion of cosmetic dentistry, she spends most of her time with her husband, three children, and her German Spitz dog. She is an avid reader, loves tennis, singing, and playing the guitar.

Naseema Maiary, DDS
Dr. Maiary is from Karachi, Pakistan, and earned her first dental degree from the University of Karachi. In 2002 she came to the U.S. to start her General Practice Residency Program, the first year at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT, and the second year at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. On returning to Connecticut, she started working with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Professor and was director of the Concept Pilot Project that incorporated undergrad student and graduate residents in the same clinical environment. She moved to private practice in 2014 and has been part-time in private practice ever since.
She is currently still working as a part-time professor at University of Connecticut, where she provides clinical instruction to the post-graduate residents and undergraduate students.
When not working, Dr. Maiary enjoys time with her 2 daughters, gardening, being outdoors and working with local charities to serve underprivileged community members.
